The Power of a Testimony
One of the
most overlooked tools to helping another person is being a witness, by sharing
our testimonies with others. The
Scriptures themselves is a huge testimony of Jesus. Were it not for The Scriptures, we wouldn’t
know that Jesus is our salvation, our Healer etc… The accounts of Jesus’ Life, Death and
Resurrection is how we became Believers.
We are told that we are to be witnesses of Jesus, a witness gives an
account of an event, in other words a testimony. This is how the Apostles changed the world,
they gave true accounts of their own personal experience with Jesus. The one most effective way to change a life
is to give a personal account of an experience with Jesus. This is true whether we are giving witness to
salvation, healing or any other Gift from Jesus.
In telling
of a testimony Holy Spirit moves through your words into that persons
heart. I tell my testimony on a daily
basis, not to draw attention to myself, but to draw them to Jesus. In my experience there are many Believers
that keep their wonderful experiences to themselves and that is a tragedy by
itself. I have seen many people healed,
yet they keep that miraculous experience to themselves. This does nothing to edify others or
themselves. When we testify true
experiences with Jesus, we do two things.
Build faith and expectation in the other person and in ourselves.
This is speaking not just for faith in salvation,
but the spoken testimony builds faith for all the Gifts of God. Not only for others, but for ourselves as well. Hearing the spoken word of all of God’s
wonderous Gifts to us, builds faith.
When I give my testimony I’m hearing my retelling of my personal
encounter with Jesus. This is reminding myself of how amazing Our God is.
Mark 6:52
Authorized
(King James) Version (AKJV)
52 For they
considered not the
miracle of the
loaves: for their heart was hardened.
I guarantee that those who constantly tell
others and remind themselves of the many times Jesus intervenes for us, live
with an expectation to see the goodness of God revealed. When times of trouble come upon us, we can
immediately look upon the last miracle and expect Him to intervene again and He
will. Those who keep the miracle to
themselves forget about it and when trouble comes, they let fear not expectation
settle in.
The key is to recognize the small miracles. Perhaps, there are symptoms in your body that
are a warning sign that perhaps there could be a major problem. Medical tests
are given they turn up negatative and the symptoms disappear…………that isn’t
luck, chance, or coincidence…………..it’s Jesus! Thank Him, and give your
testimony (no matter how small) to others.
Then when something else comes up, you can draw upon that experience and
trust Jesus to remove that situation as well.
The power of a testimony changes the course of
the lives of those you come into contact with and also your own life. So recognize how Jesus has operated in your
life and then tell others. It is like a stepping stone, recognize and testify of one miracle, then your faith and another's is built up; then you trust Jesus more and more and Jesus becomes the center of your life and reliance upon Him, becomes the norm.

Spiritual Warfare (binding spiritual powers)
In my last post, I gave a warning about binding satan and principalities and powers. I’m now better prepared to walk through, my
limited understanding on this. It all started while I first started praying for
the sick. Holy Spirit was healing people
all around my area, but in Middlesboro, KY I would pray for the sick and pray
for the deliverance of individuals in that area. For approximately a year no
one was healed or delivered, I started taking people outside the city limits,
then they were healed and delivered. It made no sense to me. I started learning about spiritual
principalities and powers and along with other spiritual leaders concluded that
it was jezebel and the spirit of religion.
My wife, myself and others started binding these principalities
including satan. Suddenly, bad things
started to happen. I was rammed into by a car, there was a ditch between myself
and where the car was coming from, yet somehow he hit my car. The authorities
concluded that I had pulled out in front of him. And ascertained that where I
said I was at, when he hit me, wasn’t the truth. My wife on several occasions felt like
someone was choking her and she couldn’t breath. The list goes on and on. Then one day we were in the parking lot of a
church, we had just bound jezebel and my wife was spiritually attacked again.
She couldn’t breath. I declared against
it, the attacked stopped. We started to
put it all together and concluded that this isn’t the way to conduct spiritual
warfare.
Now, follow me as
I make scriptural sense of this. First, while on the earth as a man, Jesus never bound satan, principalities or powers, there are
zero accounts of this, nor did He instructs His disciples to do so. He did say
“get thee behind me satan”, but that was as far as it went. Now, as near as I
can tell there are three heavens stated in the scriptures.
Genesis 1:7
Authorized
(King James) Version (AKJV)
7 And God
made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. Genesis 1:8
Authorized
(King James) Version (AKJV)
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the
morning were the second day.
I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the
body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
such an one caught up to the third heaven.
So if there is a first heaven and a third heaven, then there’s a
second heaven. Which most theologians agree that is where the spiritual
principalities and powers dwell.
The devil is also called the prince of the air, which is implied
to be the first and second heavens.
Psalm 115:16
Amplified
Bible (AMP)
16 The
heavens are the Lord’s heavens, but the earth has He given to the children of
men.
In this
psalm we In Christ have spiritual authority on the earth, which the lower
demons inhabit as well, so we are able to use our authority against them. But the heavens are the Lord’s heavens, this
is where the spiritual powers and principalities dwell. There is a chain of command among the powers
of darkness, as well as regional boundaries.
See Matthew 8.
Read the
entire chapter of Job 41 and even 40 and
then one can see the spiritual connotations within it. Understand the spiritual implications within
this chapter. Leviathan on a physical
level is a crocodile, but spiritually represents satan, principalities and
powers (my opinion)
Job 41
8) Lay thine hand upon him,
remember the battle, do no more.
remember the battle, do no more.
Read the whole chapter of Isaiah 27, once again
this implies that principality and powers are the Lord’s.
Isaiah 27:1 In that day the Lord with his sore and great and strong sword
shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent,
even leviathan that crooked serpent;
and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.
shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent,
even leviathan that crooked serpent;
and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.
So when we are binding
above our authority, we are no longer protected by Christ, because we have
directly gone outside of our authority and against God’s Will. I have tried to condense a huge study into a
smaller package. It may also seem to be
stretching scripture a bit, but keep reading and the solution should make sense
and it also works! Also, read John Paul Jackson book Needless Casualities of
War. I still haven’t read it, but I know that he does use the same versus and
have had similar experiences as I have. In fact, I believe I’m going to read it
today.
Staying within our
spiritual authority
Ok, so how do we remove
principality and powers, from out of a certain region? The Lord inhabits our praise and worship, so
extreme praise and worship of The Father and Jesus displaces principalities and
powers. Also, declaring and releasing
Blessings upon the area also displaces them. As well as coming together as a
body of Christ and asking Jesus to remove them.
A wonderful example of this is Manchester, KY (renamed City of Hope),
was a drug infested city infested with the spirit of addiction, they came
together as a spiritual community and cried out to God. This was around 2006 and now today what was a
dying town is recovering. My area started doing this in 2012 called “Standing
in the Gap” and are seeing positive results as well. Research this out and you will find that this
100 mile area was determined to be one of the worse in our nation with drug
connected crimes and corruption. It is changing.
Also, I can now report
within 6 months, the sick are getting healed and more and more people are being
delivered, saved and set free. I now no
longer hestitate to pray for the sick in my area. In fact, recently the Holy
Spirit has healed and delivered every person I’ve prayed for. Glory to God!!
And others have reported more and more people being healed, Praise God. This is what I’ve learned so far, on this
topic. Praise, Worship and Prayer is
always the answer, but it must be done within the authority that The Father and Jesus has given us!
