Romans 3:19-24
Authorized
(King James) Version (AKJV)
“19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to
them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world
may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be
justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of
sin.”
Ok now hold that thought,
so often people take this out of context. As well as the saying that there is
no righteous no, not one. That every
mouth may be stopped and all the world may become guilty before God. This is all under the Law, without Jesus! Before
I accepted Jesus, I was under The Law which is the knowledge of sin and the
devil used it to beat me up and almost killed me (literally). When after 43 years of trying to live life
without God’s mercy, forgiveness and righteousness, I was utterly condemned and
brought to a place so low, there was only one way to go……….to Jesus! This is
what the knowledge of sin and death does, destroy us and then delivers us to
the feet of Jesus. Now let’s see what’s next:
21 But now the
righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by
the law and the prophets; 22 even the righteousness of
God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all
them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 for all have sinned, and
come short of the glory of God; 24 being justified freely by
his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
It is by the faith of Jesus
on all that believe. Being justified
freely by His Favor through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. The Law is
now done, I have no need for it, it’s done the job that The Father intended it
to. Christ is the end of the law for
those that believe in Jesus. I don’t
need it to show me anything else. I just stepped into God’s Favor in the person
of Christ Jesus. Now, no matter where
I’m at, I am the righteousness of God, in Christ. Let’s see where I stack up
without the Law, using the ten commandments.
·
You shall have no other gods before Me. Living under God’s Favor, I Love Him because He first Loved me. I know now the Love of God, therefore how could I possibly have anyone before Him?
You shall have no other gods before Me. Living under God’s Favor, I Love Him because He first Loved me. I know now the Love of God, therefore how could I possibly have anyone before Him?
·
You shall not make idols. Because of His Love, He is first and Last and the
only one.
·
You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain. Couldn’t even
dream of it.
·
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Now I rest in Jesus 7 days a week,
relying only on Holy Spirit for all my needs.
·
Honor your father and your mother.
·
You shall not murder.
·
You shall not commit adultery.
·
You shall not steal.
·
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
· You shall not covet.
These last six all fall under the
commandment of Love. John 15:12 “This is my commandment That ye love one
another as I have loved you.” This is
the only commandment we now need, in it the old covenant is fulfilled. If I
love everyone I will honor my parents, not kill, not commit adultery, not
steal, not lie and not seek what someone else has. I couldn’t do it before, so how can I do it
now? Jesus answers this question is verse 9 As the Father hath loved me, so
have I loved you: Continue you in my love.” 1John 4:16 And we have known and
believed the love that God hath to us, God is Love; and he that dwelleth in
love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
We are to dwell in God’s Love

to live or stay as a
permanent resident; reside. 2. to live or continue in a given condition or
state: to dwell in happiness. 3. to linger over, emphasize, or
ponder in .
So we are to stay in His Love for
us, that is our base. Then we can give His Love away to others. While continuing to receive His Love. My
focus is now not on my actions, but on HIS.
I can hear someone say, but Jesus
said the two greatest commandments are:
Matthew 22:35-41
Authorized
(King James) Version (AKJV)
35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question,
tempting him, and saying, 36 Master,
which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy
heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
The lawyer asked him about the Law and Jesus responded, the
New Covenant did not take place until Christ’s blood was shed and He had
resurrected. Jesus was under the Law, but then just before His death He
replaced all the old laws with one new one. Which covers everything!
